Z card for models… what’s one of those? The z card for models is sometimes referred to as a composite card or a comp card. But what actually is it?

The Lowdown On The Z Card For Models
The Z card for models dates back to the sixties, but they were a generic industry standard by 1990. People across a range of professions often carry a z card; typically those in the public eye where a CV simply won’t do. It’s basically a portable version of the portfolio, featuring a select few of the best images that you have. Additionally, they feature a range of statistics and information, too.
What Are The Benefits?
The z card for models can easily be handed out at castings, meetings with potential agencies, and even out and about to prove that you’re what they’re looking for. In addition to the benefit of having a professional portfolio, a Z card has a way of showcasing everything you’ve got in a memorable format which can be given away as many times as you like.
What’s On The Z Card For Models?
Your age, statistics and all of your measurements should feature on your Z card. You’ll also need practical information such as your location, too. They should also feature the kind of modelling you have experience with or that you’re looking to find work in. It should’t be too big or detailed – an A5 card or a 5 X 7 printed photo, simple for filing.
Who Should Have A Z Card?
The Z card forms a part of industry standards for advertising yourself as a model. Think of them as model business cards. That means that everyone should have them as a convenient addition – not alternative – to the portfolio.
What Standard Should Z Cards Be?
Like a portfolio, the Z card for models absolutely has to be professional and cannot be of substandard quality. Photographs must be taken by someone at industry standard level, and they should be versatile to demonstrate a multi-faceted modelling ability.
